WPX’s High-Speed Managed WordPress Hosting Delivers Performance And Flexibility to Web Entrepreneurs Worldwide

High Performance Wordpress Hosting From Wpx

TL; DR: WPX was founded with the intention of providing top-speed, high-performance WordPress hosting to the growing population of small business owners and solopreneurs seeking to deliver their business missions to a global audience worldwide. With the WPX team’s “We Can Do Better” mindset, the company designed its own content delivery network (CDN), providing top-speed page loading and high uptime rates, while offering live chat and 24/7/365 super-fast support on live chat to all customers. Three years ago WPX expanded its quest to affect positive change and drive a future vision by starting its own nonprofit and NGO foundation Every Dog Matters. The organization’s aim is to shelter and rehome the thousands of stray dogs and cats in Bulgaria and Eastern Europe. In the near future, WPX plans to expand its existing server resources to offer WooCommerce hosting services.

In 2013, Terry Kyle and Georgi Petrov launched WPX with a vision of offering high-performing, quality WordPress hosting to small businesses and solopreneurs around the world. Terry told us his and Georgi’s vast experience in the hosting space helped them build a company that avoided the common pitfalls of many hosts on the market.

“So many companies promised high-performance hosting at a low price,” Terry said. “But instead, they delivered slow page load times, lack of knowledgeable support, and not much flexibility to serve the specific needs of customers.”

WPX is dedicated to delivering hands-on customer service.

WPX’s answer was to leverage modern CDN technology to provide ultrafast performance and build a team that understood the pain points solopreneurs and small businesses face. As a result, WPX delivers superior page-load speeds, live 24/7 customer support, and flexibility in its solutions.

“In a previous life, I’ve worked with some of the biggest companies in the world, but I didn’t find that to be a very pleasurable experience,” Terry said. “So WPX has deliberately stayed away from the enterprise market. It’s a lifestyle choice, the entrepreneurial life, waking up to the fact that our outlying business should suit our life, and not the other way around.”

Turnkey Packages, High-Performance, and Hands-On Support

In 2018, WPX launched its proprietary content delivery network (CDN) with over 26 global endpoints. The company’s CDN then underwent a massive upgrade in 2021 and was renamed XDN (eXceptional Delivery Network), which has allowed WPX to exceed global average loading speeds in several independent tests.

Terry and Georgi’s goal was to make WPX’s custom-built CDN available to all customers without the need for an upgrade or an upsell.

“It’s available for every single customer,” Terry said. “So whenever someone is accessing your popular pages on your site from anywhere in the world, you should see very fast results.”

In addition, WPX features the company’s new high-spec SSD servers, which are deliberately underloaded, making these servers optimized machines that perform very well under heavy traffic loads.

WPX’s commitment to fast page-load speeds and high uptime rates is matched by the company’s commitment to providing live chat and knowledgeable customer support for all WPX customers rather than directing them to a knowledge base.

“Let’s say I’m a non-technical guy who’s got a surfing or cooking blog, and something goes wrong with my website,” Terry said. “ I go to my hosting company, and they send me a link to an article, and I have no idea what any of that means. All I know is my site is broken, and I want it up and running again.”

In response, WPX introduced its “Fixed For You Guarantee.” If a customer site goes offline, or it experiences other serious problems with its sites, the support team at WPX will fix the problem fast at no charge. This commitment to customer service has resonated with WPX’s customer base, earning the company customer loyalty and rave reviews on Trustpilot and on WPX’s FaceBook page.

“It sounds like a small thing, but this is the single thing that people have most connected with,” Terry said. “They love that kind of 24-hour breakdown service. That feature really changed the trajectory of the company and put us on an upward, positive spiral. This is the philosophy that we bring into WPX. We focus on the outcome you want: really fast page loads, high uptime rates, and 24/7, knowledgeable, jargon-free customer service.”

A Strong CSR Strategy and Commitment to Giving Back

Three years ago, WPX set up its own nonprofit and NGO foundation Every Dog Matters to improve the state of animal welfare in Bulgaria, where the company is based.

Every Dog Matters currently cares for 500+ unwanted dogs and cats, providing quality food, shelter, medical care, and rehoming initiatives. The program has successfully rehoused 1,000 animals a year, and in true WPX fashion, the foundation is setting higher goals with future initiatives.

“The state of animal welfare in Bulgaria and in Eastern Europe is pretty terrible,” Terry said. “It took an outsider perspective and a disruptive mindset to say, ‘We can do way better.’ And with a lot of resources and ambition and effort, we may be able to permanently fix the problem here.”

Through Every Dog Mattters, Terry Kyle is helping dogs like Paco live more fulfilling lives.

Six or seven months ago, Every Dog Matters opened its first sanctuary. The facility has no cages, and instead offers open yard facilities with the smallest area measuring 400 square meters (over 4,305 square feet), and the biggest yard measuring 2,000 square meters (over 21,527 square feet).

In the future, Every Dog Matters is looking to expand its sanctuaries across Eastern Europe, building much bigger sites to accommodate and rehome more dogs and cats. In addition, the direct action foundation plans to begin spay and neutering campaigns, as well as helping abused horses and donkeys.

“The people who locally go to the sanctuaries say, ‘My god, I didn’t think this was possible or existed anywhere,’” Terry said. “This is the future. And we’re going, that’s right, this is a prototype for the future.”

What’s Next for WPX

In the near future, WPX plans to expand its upgraded XDN endpoints to 40 and continue to upgrade the system to improve performance and caching. The company is also in the process of rebuilding its billing system, shifting its reliance on a third-party system to one that is more flexible, practical, and designed and owned by WPX.

WPX is also switching to a new upstream provider while keeping the old one as backup and switching to a new DDoS protection provider simultaneously, for their datacenter in Chicago, which will ensure better connectivity with full redundancy, and better DDoS protection for WPX’s clients there.

As Terry put it, “The more things we bring under our direct control, the better.”

WPX is considering adding a secondary layer of services around WooCommerce hosting, which would require the company to develop a lot more server resources. While these services would be somewhat more expensive to run, companies and online businesses that have functional, profitable ecommerce stores on WooCommerce would benefit from considering WPX as a host for those services.
