It's hard to beat hosting for four bucks a month — especially with access to an industry-leading website builder like Wix. The downside to the lowest-cost option, however, is that Wix runs ads on sites built under the Connect Domain plan. If you opt for the Combo or Unlimited plans, you'll not only remove Wix ads, but you'll get a free domain name as well. The Unlimited plan comes with, as you'd expect, unlimited bandwidth, but at that point you're paying three times the amount of some of the cheaper (and top-rated) web hosts and web builders out there.
All in all, Wix wins when it comes to taking advantage of a free website builder tool for very basic websites — two or three pages max. If you're serious about your web building needs, it's worth looking into one of the more economical and efficient website builder services.
Unfortunately, support tops the list of Wix reviews complaints made by users. Keep in mind, millions of folks are using these services, many of whom are using the free account or $4-plan. You can't expect the same level of customer service for a free offering as you would for a premium provider. You're also not going to get the uptime guarantees that the best web hosts will offer. So, service and reliability aren't Wix's fortes, but you certainly can get your money's worth of uber-easy design-related features. That's always a huge perk for website builders.

Wix.com is one of the website builders and website hosts that I like to promote to my friends and family to use. Wix.com has extensive features and it is simple and easy to understand and use. There are a few limitations though. Like not all the apps they offer are free and sometimes when you publish the site it doesn't always look like it did when you published it. Wix has support 24hrs and their staff is friendly and helpful, when you finally get hold of them. Wix also has many templates to choose from as well as will host the website you have built for free (but like wordpress or tumblr you dont OWN the site). When you go premium or other wise known as paid the service and hosting starts improving. All in all I will say that I give www.wix.com about a 3 and a half out of 5 overall.

My business partner and I are just finishing a four-month membership in the Wix Community Lounge. What an incredible experience. The Lounge provides members with a place to connect with a community of experts and users who can help you take you website to new heights. Wix sets the standard for DIY website platforms...don't bother with any other platform.

I found the WIX lounge and co-working space to be an excellent place to be productive and get my work done; attend workshops that were fun and practical; and meet amazing creatives and entrepreneurs who were inspiring and informative.

Wix.com is the service that I use probably most often per day. This is a good website builder and could be used even by inexperienced users. I can say that it has a really good number of different features, design templates, etc, though some of them have some bugs. There are of course some minor issues, but this is not too critical and never gave me a headache. So if you want to build something unique and awesome, this would be a great choice.

I have been using WIX since 2011. Everything I've wish for new feature lo and behold WIX adds it. Their development teams is obviously listening to the customers. My site has grown from a few pages to ninety-two pages, as far as I know we have never had down time. Over the years we have had an issue with saving my site after modifications. But not so much as to call it a serious issue. As for support, while phone support is too far out, I open a ticket and get replies in 24 hours or less. I value WIX because I am able to keep my site updated daily. The many aps available also add to WIX flexiblity. One area wherein I had issues was the old SEO features. The newest version of the editor allows much better SEO features. Now a person who is not SEO savvy is able to set up a sit the Google gobbles up. My site consistently gets great page locations on both Google and BING. Also the Mobile site is great. With little effort one as a Google mobile-friendly site which is must. I recently started another company doing mail order only and bit on GoDaddys eCommerce. BIG MISTAKE. Should have gone WIX.

Volunteers built the site I maintain for a non-profit group. They built it on Wix, and it looks great. We upgraded to a paid account to get rid of the advertising, and I caught onto the editing features quickly. However, many of our users are accessing the site from public schools and their district's firewall software is blocking the server that uploaded pdf files are stored on. Research indicates that this is a common problem for those accessing Wix sites on their work computers as well (when on a corporate network). I contacted Wix for help, and the response was to tell the appropriate IT people to unblock Wix URLs because they're safe. (Ummm, no; didn't work. They aren't going to take Wix' word for it.) So while I agree that it's easy to use and creates beautiful sites, I can't continue to use it if 50% or more of my users can't access every aspect of my site. So disappointed.

Wix is the winner
4 out of 8 times.
Wix is easily one of the most popular website builders on the market today, and our review reveals the platform lives up to the hype of its reputation. Getting started is as easy as inputting an email address, the cost to sign up is nothing, you can get a 1-year domain registration voucher included, and you can be designing in minutes. Within the Wix Editor, you can quickly and easily customize one of thousands of industry-specific themes via drag-and-drop, and you can even edit your mobile site display. Add more functionality with any of the hundreds of apps and tools found in the Wix App Market, e.g., Site Booster or Form Builder. Finally, get your new blog or online business noticed with the help of Wix's SEO Wizard and up to $300 in search engine ad credits. Wix has certainly mastered the wonder that is carefree, code-free website building.
