Global Delight’s Boom 3D App Enhances Audio Capabilities so Mac and Windows Users Can Experience High-Quality Surround Sound

Global Delight Boom 3d App Enhances Sound Capabilities

TL; DR: Modern computers aren’t always optimized to produce high-quality sound right out of the box, which frustrates Mac and Windows users alike. That is why Global Delight set out to develop the Boom software and app line to fine-tune digital audio for everyone from office workers to sound engineers. Its Boom 3D offering is the culmination of nearly a decade of innovation in the computer audio space, and it aims to provide listeners with rich, immersive sound experiences. And Global Delight offers a variety of other apps for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices that allow content producers to capture and record screens and edit videos.

Today’s desktop and laptop computers offer unprecedented amounts of memory, power, and features — including HD video and high-resolution displays for gaming. But audio components often need to fit into tighter spaces to make room for those vital processing components.

That means a Mac or Windows computer may not have optimal audio quality right out of the box — even if users connect their expensive, studio-quality headphones. And that disconnect between performance and sound extends to mobile devices and tablets, as well, leaving plenty of users disappointed.

Many of those people desire a better experience — whether it is an IT worker who wants to work on a task in complete audio immersion or a sound engineer who wants to add the right beat to a new track.

That’s why Global Delight created Boom 3D for desktops and laptops, the latest in its line of powerful audio apps for Mac, Windows, and mobile devices. Boom 3D is a volume-boosting equalizer that offers a three-dimensional sound experience.

Global Delight designed Boom 3D to enhance the audio experience on Mac and Windows laptops and desktops.

It enables more precise audio tuning with 31 bands, compared to just 10 on many standard machines. And the result is an entirely different listening experience than most people are accustomed to.

“With our innovative, patented 3D surround sound technology, we completely transform the audio on your headphones to sound immersive and deep,” said Ram Acharya, Global Delight CTO, and the inventor of Boom’s virtual surround sound. “The unique sound staging algorithm breathes new life into every nuance of your audio, making it extremely realistic.”

Boom 3D is the most recent innovation from Global Delight, a company based in Udupi near Bangalore also known as the Silicon Valley of India. The company’s other apps offer robust camera, screen capture, and video editing features.

Global Delight has found a niche in the audio space, and has even partnered with music streaming services — including Spotify and Tidal — to ensure the best sound reaches listeners.

Boom 3D is the Latest in a Long Line of High-Quality Audio Solutions

The team at Global Delight began seeing the frustration Mac users experienced with the volume controls on their machines. As a company that already developed apps for Mac video capabilities, it was in a unique position to offer a solution.

So it launched the original Boom app in 2011 to allow Mac users to enhance their audio capabilities. Over the years, Global Delight has continued developing new versions of the app as user needs have grown.

“We added new features, including an equalizer and audio effects, when we released Boom 2 in 2015, but our objective was the same,” said Vipin Mishra, Marketing Manager for Global Delight. “We were solving audio problems for people.”

Problems with audio weren’t limited to desktops and laptops, however, so Global Delight also introduced Boom Mobile for iOS and Android devices. When it launched Boom 3D in 2017, it aimed to complete its line of audio apps with the all-in-one tool that produces quality sound no matter what the source. The app’s patented 3D technology offers an immersive experience across a variety of media.

“Users can hear quality sound no matter what they are doing. Whether it’s watching Netflix or YouTube, playing games, listening to music, or anything they stream online,” Vipin said.

Besides the audio features, Mac users who download Boom 3D also have access to more than 20,000 international radio stations through its interface. All of the stations stream with Boom-optimized sound.

And while Global Delight initially aimed to help people solve issues with images and videos through its other popular apps, the company has become a significant player in the computer audio space.

Other Popular Apps Include Screen Capture and Video Editing Tools

Global Delight started in 2008 with the launch of its Camera Plus app, which earned it an Editor’s Choice Award on Apple’s App Store. Camera Plus reached nearly 25 million downloads, and other iterations, including Camera Plus Pro, inspired the company to design other apps to expand on those capabilities.

Capto is a screen capture and editing tool for Mac that allows users to perform various tasks. They can record their screen, take screen captures, and even record and edit videos. The app includes image and audio editing capabilities, as well.

“You can create awesome content like blogs or create tutorials, and capture anything on your Mac computer. And it has some amazing features,” Vipin said.

Capto allows bloggers and content creators to easily capture, record, and edit instructional videos.

The Capto app helps bloggers, vloggers, and even those in the entertainment industry produce polished professional-quality content. But the company also has a more streamlined solution for mobile device users.

Vizmato is an app — available on both iOS and Android devices — that puts powerful video editing tools in the palm of a user’s hand. And it has slideshow features, visual effects, music, and sharing tools to make a well-rounded, portable solution.

But Global Delight doesn’t rest on the laurels it has received for its powerful audio and video app suite. The company actively seeks out new products and features to satisfy other needs customers have.

“We look at two aspects. One, what is the user looking for? And second, how is it going to be useful for all of our users?” Vipin said. “Then, we decide on which features to pursue by considering user feedback and the opinions of our research and development team.”

The Global Delight Team Uses Feedback to Inform New Features

Audio capabilities aren’t always near the top of the list when tech companies design a new, more powerful computer. That’s why Global Delight is on a mission to ensure that users have access to the highest quality sound for their Mac and Windows computers.

The Global Delight research and development team also looks for ways to improve the current Boom offerings and update them as technology advances. It is currently planning to add capabilities to a new version of Boom 2.

“We are taking a professional audio approach to the software, and giving people more customization and advanced features so they will have more control of how they listen to their audio,” Vipin said.

Those advancements, often inspired by customer needs, will continue to move forward. And the feedback Global Delight receives for its Boom apps isn’t just from those who want to comment on features or request new ones. The company’s products can also impact people’s lives.

“We get a lot of positive feedback from people who are partially deaf or who have other issues with hearing,” Vipin said. “They say that because of Boom 3D or Boom 2, they can now listen to and enjoy music or whatever audio they are consuming.”

That provides the company with even more purpose as it continues to add to its offerings and expand its role as a pioneer in computer audio software.
