While Others Battle for Features, This German Provider Wins with Affordable Pricing

Boost Your Business With This Budget Friendly Vps Hosting

TL; DR: A unicorn in the hosting world, Luxvps combines surprisingly low prices with a strong focus on customer feedback rather than just following the latest tech trends. CEO and Founder Mathias Streander runs Luxvps single-handedly — with plans that start at just 2.95 euros per month — all without compromising on service or reliability.

Everybody loves a company that is transparent about its pricing. No guessing games, no “contact for a quote” forms, and no fine print with surprise charges. It’s especially a relief when you get transparent pricing and it’s for a high-end service — like VPS hosting.

I always describe VPS hosting as the middle ground between shared and dedicated hosting. It offers more performance than shared and is cheaper than dedicated, but just like “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” VPS hosting is (usually) juuuuust right.

In most cases, VPS hosting is also more expensive than shared hosting — but not when it comes to Luxvps. LuxVPS is a Germany-based virtual private server (VPS) provider that prioritizes its affordability without compromising on performance or customer support.

Meet Luxvps, the affordable Germany-based virtual private server web host.

Its pricing starts at 2.95 euros/month ($3.27 US) and you can choose from web hosting (Ryzen or Intel servers) or even storage, reseller, and emulators for just a few more euros per month. In a world where hosting averages around 10 euros per month, this is an absolute steal.

With all this in mind, it’s only fair that we let CEO and Founder, Mathias Streander, take center stage. We talked with him about how Luxvps wants to be the go-to solution for reliable yet affordable VPS hosting in Germany. So, without further ado, let’s dive in.

Building from the Ground Up

Luxvps is young — only having been in the hosting game since 2022 — but it’s not naive.

Having witnessed what other big-name hosting companies promise but don’t always deliver, Luxvps has a single mission: to match those leaders in terms of performance but take it several steps further with some of the lowest prices in the industry.

In just two years, Luxvps boasts 145+ servers in its data center with more than 840 customers and 45 hosting resellers using its services and platform.

Mathias is the brains behind Luxvps. So, if you have any problems, he’ll be the first to address them.

Its two data centers are located in Frankfurt, which isn’t only at the heart of Europe’s internet infrastructure, but it’s also the second-largest density of data centers in Europe as a whole.

“Our customer base is actually quite global. The top markets are the United Kingdom and the United States, followed by Germany,” said Mathias.

He’s also excited about potentially expanding Luxvps’s data center locations to include the U.S. and the Netherlands.

What’s perhaps even more impressive is that Mathias isn’t only the founder and CEO, he’s the one-man show behind everything Luxvps offers.

He said he usually replies within two hours — so, odds are when you have a question, Mathias will be the one answering it.

Not Just About Unbeatable Pricing

One of the best parts of learning about so many different hosting companies is that every single one has a different mission, value proposition, and set of features or services.

I think Mathias said it best when he emphasized: “Our features are more or less the same as other hosts, but what really separates us is our pricing.”

What I love about Luxvps is that it’s totally customizable, right down to your preferred storage and monthly budget.

But before we dive into the fun part, just take a moment to familiarize yourself with some of this upcoming jargon:

  • KVM: A KVM, or kernel-based virtual machine (VM), is a type of virtualization technology built into the Linux operating system. It lets one computer act as several smaller, separate computers — so if you want to run multiple operating systems, like Windows and iOS, this software tool is the answer.
  • Rootservers: Rootservers work side-by-side with the Domain Name System (DNS), which acts like a phonebook for all things on the internet. Rootservers direct your web browser to the correct website by translating human-readable domain names (e.g., www.hostingadvice.com = 123.456.789).
  • Plesk: Plesk is a web hosting control panel that lets IT professionals manage all aspects of the technical aspects of a website, including web hosting, DNS, mail services, and databases, from a single dashboard. It’s compatible with Windows and Linux.
  • Reseller: A reseller is an individual, agency, or company that purchases hosting services from a provider and rebrands them to sell as their own to their customers.
  • Emulator: Emulators are pretty neat software because they allow computer systems to mimic one another, allowing you to run software or games designed for different systems on your computer. For example, if you’re a Mac user but want to play PC games, an emulator would be the way to go.

With that out of the way, it’s time to get to the fun part and break down the VPS services Luxvps offers:

  • Web Hosting: Get the basics of web hosting powered by AMD EPYC starting at 2.95 euros/mo.
  • KVM Root servers: KVM root servers are ideal for hosting websites and managing email servers, starting at 4 euros/mo.
  • Ryzen KVM Servers: Get even better performance for your KVM servers with Ryzen, starting at 4.95 euros/mo.
  • Storage KVMs: Need storage instead? Powered by Xeon 2680v2, you’ll get the best performance starting at 4.95 euros/mo.
  • Plesk Reseller: Get your own Plesk licenses and hosting resources from Luxvps and resell them to your own customers starting at 5.95 euros/mo.
  • Intel Emulator: For Android emulation run on Intel, you’ll get a Windows 11 VM with Bluestacks starting at 8.95 euros/mo.
  • Ryzen Emulator: Get the same features as the Intel emulator but run it on Ryzen processors instead starting at 9.95 euros/mo.

Mathias added that you basically get full root access to the servers and a custom-made control panel — which means you (or your designated IT pro) have full control over the server and systems.

Customers Over Everything

There’s a reason Luxvps’s customer base grew more than 800% in just two years of its life, and it’s because everything is centered around what its average customer wants. The pricing, support, and features are all direct results of feedback from customers.

“We try to change and adapt based on market trends and our customer needs. Each time they give us feedback on something, we actually improve based on that feedback, unlike other hosts that just ignore complaints,” said Mathias. “We really care about our customers’ experience, because without them, we wouldn’t even be here.”

Another thing that most consumers and tech leaders are talking about is AI. Mathias mentioned that Luxvps is certainly aware of the ongoing AI hype in the tech world — and we at HostingAdvice always ask about this just to get different perspectives on how it is (or isn’t) being used.

And I appreciate Mathias’s honesty. He said: “We’re always looking to improve and that includes exploring AI and if it could be useful for us, but we haven’t found a good use case for it yet.”

Mathias has considered integrating it before, but not in terms of customer service because he’s seen what AI-based support looks like.

How Effective is AI at customer service? Bar graph
The majority of those surveyed (58%) say that AI is only somewhat effective at customer service.

“It really shouldn’t be used for customer support because staying authentic and actually giving them human-to-human support is always the best thing to do,” Mathias said, and then added with a laugh: “You’ve probably tried going on some website trying to buy something and you get the chatbots that don’t help at all.”

I’ve definitely had that experience, and it’s frustrating. Just last week, I encountered a chatbot that asked me to use simple phrases to describe my problem (an issue with my order) and it quite literally could not understand me. I ended up calling customer service anyway, which, if you ask me, makes the chatbot completely useless.

So, to me, Mathias’s view on AI is a breath of fresh air. It seems that so many startups and growing companies are rushing to use AI even when it’s not needed for their services or customers.

Take Target, for instance. It used AI to identify customers who might be pregnant and then targeted them with ads for baby products. While some might argue this is just part of advertising, I see it as an invasion of privacy and pretty insensitive. You just never know what your customers are experiencing in their private lives, so why risk chasing them away with seemingly baseless assumptions? (There’s a pretty interesting story about this all going awry.)

With a focus on customer needs and pricing lower than most other VPS providers, Luxvps is a great option for any business based in Europe. Give Luxvps a chance here.
