Public Cloud Provider’s Massive Data Center Network Delivers Low Latency and Stability

This Web Host Has Points Of Presence In Every Continent

TL; DR: The cloud allows teams to bring their applications closer to end users. The nature of this unique feature has helped make app and site performance better than ever, allowing end users to have a smooth and speedy experience. Megabit Cloud is a cloud provider with a global data center network that enables customers to serve their audiences with lower latency and stability. Its solutions are affordable, accessible, and highly available. We spoke with Didier Serge Dushime, Founder of Megabit Cloud, about the hosting service, its solutions, and how its global presence positively impacts its customers.

When people say you have “your head in the clouds,” it’s not usually meant as a good thing. But for companies, the cloud network means access to data centers around the world.

The cloud helps bring applications closer to the end user. Companies can deploy their applications in physical servers near their customer base, reducing latency and improving the overall user experience.

This global connectivity feature of the cloud isn’t something you can find with other hosting types, making it exclusive to cloud hosting users. But the cloud’s power isn’t limited to its accessibility.

The cloud has so many possibilities, and the team at Megabit Cloud can help everyday users and small businesses reach for the sky.

“Our users can benefit from our global reach because we provide access to a global network of data centers, which allows you to serve customers worldwide. Low latency is one of our core competencies,” said Didier Serge Dushime, Founder of Megabit Cloud.

The Megabit Cloud team believes everyone should have access to affordable and reliable hosting services powered by the cloud. It makes it its mission to provide those solutions while upholding ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards.

Though the cloud’s many benefits may be exclusive to its nature, Megabit Cloud offers an inclusive approach to onboarding the cloud into business systems. Its scalable, secure, and green cloud hosting works for every kind of user, from individuals to SMBs and academic institutions.

Cloud Native Solutions for Scalable Growth and Security

Cloud-based hosting solutions are crucial to the growth of cloud-native platforms. Their scalability allows users to scale resources on demand quickly, which is a popular feature among the Megabit Cloud customer base.

“Users can also benefit from agility and cost efficiency because you pay for what you use. We also have high availability because we offer redundant infrastructure that includes resource recovery options to ensure minimum downtime and no data loss,” said Didier.

Cloud computing enables teams to enhance their performance in multiple ways. If used correctly, it can offer better cost performance, allowing businesses to save on unused resources and pay for only what they use. Its redundant architecture also provides reliability and security in times of unforeseen events.

Megabit Cloud delivers in-demand features, including top-tier security capabilities. Cybersecurity has never been more essential than in today’s digital landscape. This is why Megabit Cloud offers various security solutions, including data encryption, multifactor authentication, and compliance.

“We add GDPR, hyper SoC, two ISO, and other compliance depending on the location. Some countries where we operate have already started implementing their local GDPR regulations, so we are also making sure we are compliant in that particular space,” said Didier.

Megabit Cloud offers a comprehensive security suite to safeguard users’ cloud environments. Its platform has also shown to help users grow. Didier said some small business customers start their hosting journey with Megabit Cloud and outgrow their initial resource packages.

“Some of our customers grow, and their consumption is so high that they decide to downsize to meet their budget. And they opt back to dedicated servers,” said Didier.

This is where Megabit Cloud’s sister company, Metal on Cloud, comes in. Instead of losing its lifelong customers, Megabit Cloud helps those users set up with its sister company’s dedicated server to suit their needs better.

Points of Presence on Every Continent

Headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, Megabit Cloud’s data center journey began in its home country before expanding throughout Africa and to other continents. The Megabit Cloud team took on the ambitious goal of opening data centers in multiple countries within each continent and succeeded.

Megabit Cloud operates a total of 30 state-of-the-art, secure data centers across six continents. Here is a list of the countries its network covers:

  • Africa: Rwanda, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa
  • Europe: Ireland, France, Germany, the U.K., Sweden, Russia, and the Netherlands
  • Asia: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, India, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea
  • Oceania: Australia
  • South America: Brazil
  • North America: the U.S. and Canada

The team’s cloud network has an extensive reach, and it has plans to expand that reach even further. Megabit Cloud is considering Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo as locations for data center additions. It recently launched a Point of Presence in Brazil, making its entrance into the South American market.

“We are growing and have plans to have a presence in every country in the world where they will allow us to. I know some countries have very strict policies, but our aim is to have a global presence to ensure our customers are being served at the nearest possible location,” said Didier.

Didier told us about 70% of Megabit Cloud customers are global. That’s why he and the team are doing their best to expand their data centers and bring their cloud networks closer to where users are deploying, meeting the demand head on.

What makes Megabit Cloud’s data centers even more impressive is that their hosting servers are powered by 100% renewable energy. Its data centers have an extremely low PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) ratio of 1.12.

Sitting on Top With WordPress Hosting

Besides its robust cloud infrastructure, another solution Megabit Cloud excels in is WordPress hosting. Didier said WordPress hosting is a favorite among the Megabit Cloud user base, which has encouraged the team to continuously improve the WordPress solution.

“One of the best features we have is auto-scaling. When it comes to your WordPress site, it can grow faster because of the content that you are uploading. So we ensure you don’t receive errors in performance,” said Didier.

Megabit Cloud’s auto-scaling feature ensures users receive the right amount of resources for their site and application demands. Thus, WordPress users can find this feature useful while scaling their site.

“We offer a staging option that most of our competitors don’t have. If you need to make changes to your site, you can simply go into staging mode and make your updates. Once they are ready, you can push them to arrive in just a few minutes with just one click,” said Didier.

The team also has a WordPress manager to monitor customer sites to alert users of their sites’ health status and WordPress updates. This way, Megabit Cloud can help keep user sites updated, secure, and running. Didier said this collection of services sets Megabit Cloud’s WordPress solution apart from the competition.

Supporting AI Integration

Megabit Cloud has also joined the AI race. Didier said he looks forward to integrating AI solutions into the Megabit Cloud platform. The team is currently searching for a provider to supply it with new hardware with GPUs that can support AI workloads.

A new GPU integration will help users find the power to develop their AI models, and that need is what the Megabit Cloud team seeks to satisfy.

“We want to solve those problems for people building in this new area. So, that is the new feature we are working on. As for everything else, we keep improving what we have based on our customers’ feedback and market demands,” said Didier.
