Spot Vulnerabilities and Improve Your Security Posture With This Cybersecurity Provider

Looking To Level Up Cybersecurity Check Out Security Platform

TL; DR: Today, companies have dozens of digital assets and hundreds of web applications on top of that to manage. Although a wealth of solutions brings diverse capabilities, it also presents security challenges. Securin helps businesses spot and prioritize vulnerabilities within their complex and layered infrastructure. It enables teams to view all their digital assets from one place, pentest their environments, and predict exploitable threats. We spoke with Ram Movva, Co-Founder and CEO of Securin, about the platform below.

I remember when I shook my first Magic 8 Ball. At the time, my seven-year-old brain couldn’t handle the excitement that a piece of plastic could tell me about my future. But I later learned putting your hope in a novelty kids toy that used complete randomness to give advice wasn’t the way to go. Oh, the things we fall for as kids.

In the cybersecurity world, companies also seek advice to predict the future. But they do so by putting trust in something more grounded and practical than a Magic 8 ball.

Businesses, instead, use solutions powered by AI and ML to drive their predictive intelligence. And Securin is one of those companies.

“With our technology, we have a unique ability for prediction. Whenever somebody says, hey, these vulnerabilities are something you have to watch out for. We can come out and say, we said so 30 days ago, 90 days ago, or two weeks ago and we alerted our customers as well,” said Ram Movva, Co-Founder and CEO of Securin.

The timetable for spotting vulnerabilities can make or break a company. If you don’t spot a vulnerability in time, a hacker may find it first, which can spell bad news for your entire business. Thankfully, Securin specializes in vulnerability management and intelligence to help you improve your security posture.

Securin offers solutions to help users predict exploitable threats, spot vulnerabilities, and remediate them continuously. Below, we’ll discuss Securin’s platform, its solutions, and differentiators.

Experts in Vulnerability Intelligence and Management

Ram and his team are problem solvers and always have been. In fact, Securin isn’t the only cybersecurity company Ram has founded. In 2008, Srinivas Mukkamala and Ram co-founded RiskSense and later sold it to Ivanti in 2021.

“We started that journey way back in 2008 as security practitioners who wanted to solve a problem. After selling RiskSense, we still knew there were a lot of gaps in the industry, some more problems to be solved,” said Ram.

In 2021, Ram began his research to develop Securin. He and his team in 2022 acquired a startup from ASU funded by Naval Intelligence and DARPA to bolster the platform. This startup had patents for AI and ML technology that could predict when vulnerabilities would be weaponized.

Securin continued to enhance those patented solutions and was awarded patents for them in 2024. Securin uses these solutions to stay ahead of the competition to find vulnerabilities and drive its vulnerability intelligence.

Securin’s team members are experts in vulnerability intelligence, and that expertise is apparent throughout its VI platform. The team was one of the first to coin the association between a vulnerability and ransomware. And it used that revelation to address potential exploits.

Securin Vulnerability Risk Score
Securin uses a variety of data sources to calculate dynamic vulnerability risk scores.

“Today, enterprises have hundreds of thousands of vulnerabilities. Prioritizing which to address can be challenging. So how VI addresses that is we categorize those vulnerabilities based on exploitability, ransomware association by nation-state, attack, TTPs, trends,” said Ram.

Securin categorizes all the vulnerabilities within a customer’s environment/context, allowing you to see which to prioritize and how to address each vulnerability. It also gives users context, including sources and exact mapping, and actionable intelligence to make the proper responses.

Securin’s in-depth research also allows it to keep users up to date. For example, its vulnerability scores aren’t static like those of its competitors. The team ensures these scores change dynamically to match the state of the threat landscape and what’s trending.

“Our vulnerability score keeps changing based on what is trending. For example, a new exploit may emerge, or a vulnerability was used by some other ransomware. Once the score changes, our customers get alerted. Dynamic scores are essential today. You can’t rely on a static score anymore,” said Ram.

Pentesting for Analyzing Vulnerabilities

Securin’s pentesting solution allows teams to understand the scale and scope of the security gaps in their environments. Securin’s team of experts run pen tests at scale to test your defenses and identify any exploitable threats.

Pentesting is crucial when developing new solutions and securing your environments. In the past, companies didn’t have the ability to run continuous pentesting. Most people could only run a pentest once or twice a year. Securin will soon enable you to do more.

“Most of our customers are doing it once a quarter. We want to empower them to trigger it when they want and see those results. So that is a big offering that we will give, so customers can keep remediating continuously,” said Ram.

A Wealth of Security Capabilities On One Platform

Securin’s VI platform is the underlying foundation for every product it builds. What it does: It delivers vulnerability intelligence and context on the latest threats. That’s not all. It also sources users with actionable insights to continuously remediate vulnerabilities.

The Securin team sources structured and unstructured data from over 1100 data sources and combines various factors to develop its VI platform. Securin remains one step ahead by assessing the true risk posed by a vulnerability and how it can be used before hackers can take advantage of it.

The VI platform can determine whether a vulnerability can be used for various purposes, including privilege escalation, infiltration, and attack kill chain.

Securin also addresses a lot of cybersecurity with its services. The following are capabilities Securin offers to help you improve your security posture:

  • Vulnerability Intelligence
  • Attack surface management
  • Vulnerability scanning
  • Cloud/application security
  • Penetration testing

Beyond its wealth of capabilities, Securin enables companies to centralize their observability. We’ll explore that further below.

The Importance of a Singular Dashboard

More than a decade ago, cybersecurity landscape looked much different. Business attack surfaces were primarily on-premises infrastructure and web applications were used as entry points. Today, it is a different case.

“Now you have cloud hosting, workloads, repositories for configuration, and IoT devices. All of these things are becoming and expanding your attack surface,” said Ram.

Securing all these different assets can be challenging, especially if you have a different security solution for each. Securin responds to this pain point by allowing users to view all their assets and needs in one dashboard, so they can have a comprehensive understanding of what to fix.

“We enable customers to see their entire digital attack surface and associated risk in one place. And VI is underneath that prioritizing and telling them what to fix now, what to fix tomorrow, and what to fix later. So that is where the actionable intelligence is,” said Ram.

Using AI to Predict Exploitable Threats

Companies everywhere are leveraging AI to improve efficiency and make life easier for themselves and their end users. Securin is also doing the same.

“We’re helping our customers pentest their AI models. We’re helping their customers know if the AI model they’re about to deploy is safe. At the same time, we’re leveraging AI to improve our product as well,” said Ram.

As for the future, Ram told us the company is positioned for growth. “We’ve been growing fast and hiring. We’re profitable and want to make sure we raise money at the right time. Until then, we will stay focused and get our product where we envision it from a research to delivery perspective,” said Ram.
