In a somewhat surprising move to many, iPage is no longer accepting any new customers. As one of the larger web hosts in the EIG (now Newfold Digital) brand, iPage has always been a frontrunner in the shared hosting space.

Founded in 1998, when I graduated high school, iPage was initially known as a design, development, and hosting provider but changed its focus to web hosting around 2009.

Alternatives to iPage

If you are here looking for iPage hosting plans, unfortunately, they are no longer in business. But here are some alternative web hosting reviews, coupons, and comparisons to help you find what is best for your needs:

What Happened to iPage?

While it’s not entirely clear what happened to iPage, it is known that they are not currently accepting any new customers. They have partnered with Bluehost, and as I checked the iPage homepage, I noticed that they are redirecting all new users to Bluehost’s offerings.

What is interesting to me is that current iPage customers can still log in and receive web hosting and customer support. I guess this isn’t too surprising considering that many of the EIG brands share their support, hosting infrastructure, and management. If it were me, I would probably look to migrate off of iPage and onto another provider to make sure that I wasn’t in for any surprises down the road.

Then again, it seems that iPage is still hosting over a million websites and has been doing so for years, so if you are happy with their current services and pricing, it is up to you to make the best judgment you can.
