TL; DR: Instructional videos are a staple in our everyday lives. And I’m not only talking about the boring kind. We use videos to learn how to cook, do skincare, and a million other things. Video engages us, and that is something the team at DemoTiger understands well. DemoTiger offers a catalog of instructional videos to help hosting providers not only bolster their customer support but also build their brandability and engagement. We spoke with Surya Prakash, Founder of DemoTiger, about the platform below.
I would be the first to say that watching YouTube tutorials has improved my way of life. I wouldn’t know all that I know now without them or have the courage to boldly take on new challenges, such as baking a crème brûlée or setting up an index fund.
Surya, the Founder of DemoTiger, agrees with me. “People love videos. Personally, I search for videos before doing a lot of things. By watching videos, I can see how someone else does something and avoid mistakes,” said Surya.
Video platforms, such as YouTube, are like having an encyclopedia in your back pocket but without all the dense wording. This form of visual content helps viewers engage, see things in practice, and digest tough topics more easily.
As a matter of fact, video content can also impact a brand’s trajectory. And it can be particularly valuable in web hosting. DemoTiger’s videos not only help end users solve their hosting issues. But they also help hosting providers develop useful knowledge bases and develop a more trustworthy brand.
“If customers have to spend money, they look for a brand they can trust. Instructional videos are a form of video marketing businesses can use to showcase their brand,” said Surya.
DemoTiger allows hosting businesses to spend fewer resources on customer support and build brands while attracting customers with engaging content. Its videos also include brand logos and can be uploaded on different video platforms to increase traffic.
Below, we’ll explore DemoTiger’s video content, its use cases, and how the team plans to extend its library and functionality going forward.
Shaping a Brand’s Customer Support — And Its Stories
DemoTiger’s website may have launched in 2021, but Surya said the journey started long before then. Prior to creating DemoTiger, Surya developed technical content and training videos for online businesses, including those in the web hosting industry.
“At the time, I witnessed small- and medium-sized hosting providers struggling with real-time customer support and the rising demand for video content on fast, dominating social media platforms. So I decided to solve this problem by creating an all-in-one solution,” said Surya.
Not too long after, Surya and his team launched a video series aimed to help businesses better navigate their support services and build their knowledge bases. Today, DemoTiger owns an extensive video library with more than 200 tutorials in full HD quality.
DemoTiger’s most popular videos include its control panel series. The platform offers three different control panel series: cPanel, Plesk, and DirectAdmin. Designed for knowledge bases and support websites, DemoTiger’s professional videos guide customers through their queries with audio and text instructions.
Besides its control panel series, DemoTiger has videos covering WordPress, SolusVM, and Outlook 2019. Surya and the team also make integrating their videos quite simple. With your purchase, you get an SQL file and a three-step installation guide on how to upload the videos, which you can host on YouTube, your server, Vimeo, AWS S3, etc.
For no additional charge, DemoTiger can also upload videos onto your platform of choice if you have trouble doing it on your own.
“We launched a video series that not only could reduce support tickets, but also help showcase brands on social media such as YouTube and Facebook. I realized how beneficial it could be, not just for me, but more so for web hosting providers worldwide,” said Surya.
DemoTiger helps hosting businesses beyond a basic operational level. It also takes its assistance to the marketing side. Businesses can use DemoTiger’s videos to enhance brand authority and boost engagement.
DemoTiger doesn’t include any of its brand information on its videos. Instead, when a hosting company purchases its videos, DemoTiger will add that company’s brand logo to the video. This way, teams can advertise their brand and DemoTiger can help them increase their brandability.
A Growing Hosting Industry and Focus on Video Content
The hosting industry continues to grow at an incredible rate. It is estimated to grow 18% and be worth more than $267 billion by the year 2028, which is a measurable leap from its $124 billion valuation in 2023.
“The hosting industry is very dynamic and it continues to present new challenges at both personal and company levels. The good part of the story is that the web hosting industry is going to grow bigger and bigger, giving everyone a chance to expand their customer base,” said Surya.
The high demand for web hosting services can be tied to digital transformation. As more businesses enter the digital landscape, they will need trustworthy solutions to power everything from their websites and applications to social media and gaming platforms.
“The future is bright. The web hosting industry is still dominated by enterprises as the end users because they have more money to spend on their hosting services. This attraction will further increase the likelihood of the small and medium hosting providers turning their companies into a recognized brand,” said Surya.
Thanks to this demand, hosting companies are able to reap the benefits of an increased focus on their products and services. But to take advantage of this growth, providers will need to prepare and have their own digital tactics in place. This is where DemoTiger can help.
“The other side is if you are a web hosting provider in this industry, you have to build a brand because enterprises are not going to buy hosting from anyone,” said Surya.
DemoTiger’s instructional videos not only guide end users through their technical questions but provide hosting companies with the resources to create a trustworthy and attractive brand. DemoTiger excels at video content, which has become extremely popular among internet users.
This is evident in the fact that TikTok, a predominantly video-based social platform, has overtaken Google as a search engine among Gen Z users.
“If you’re a hosting provider, you must be on video platforms because visual content is growing. Internet and mobile penetration is also increasing around the world. If you want profitable enterprises as clients, you need to have a brand and videos can help you with that,” said Surya.
Future Plans: Expanding Video Library and Functionality
Surya told us DemoTiger has plans to add more instructional videos and this time on new topics. The team seeks to extend the subject matter they cover and help hosting providers offer in-demand resources to their end users.
“So the first thing we’re working on is a new video series on WHMCs. We will be launching that series in the following month,” said Surya.
As for new functionality, the team has an upcoming feature that will trigger pop-up windows that show a link to the hosting provider’s website in each video. Surya said the development on that feature is almost complete and it will be released in September 2024.
Surya also explained how DemoTiger chooses the topics it will make videos for next. He said DemoTiger considers two things: how to reduce customer support tickets and how to emphasize its clients’ brands.
“It is not enough that we know what type of questions support staff are facing from their clients. We also do keyword research for YouTube to see what kind of videos people are looking for,” said Surya.
The DemoTiger team seeks to attract the maximum number of potential customers and address their problems with its videos for its hosting clients. So they target information people are searching for from a hosting perspective and develop content on it.
Surya shared with us one last sneak peek into DemoTiger’s future plans.
“One day we have a plan to make the hosting provider the face of their videos. We will feature them in their videos, giving instructions. That is the future of the product. But if things go well, by the end of this year, we will be launching that,” said Surya.
